We welcome our new pastor, The Rev. John M. Williams, III, who was appointed by Bishop Holston to serve the St. John-Warrenville Charge. Let us welcome, Pastor John and his family to the charge.

We also welcome to the Greenwood District, our new District Superintendent, The Rev. Chris Lollis. Rev. Lollis has most recently served as the Conference Pensions and Benefits Officer for the South Carolina United Methodist Church as well as serving in a local church. His wife, Donna, is also a pastor and will be serving Aldersgate UMC in Greenwood. Rev. Lollis will, in addition to being the fultime District Superintendent of the Greenwood District, also serve a portion of the Greenville District as Superintendent.

The Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference of The United Methodist Church will take place July 10 – 12 at Lake Junaluska, NC. David Salter is an elected delegate to this conference and also serves on the Jurisdictional Nominat- ing Committee and will be there from the evening of July 7-July 12. This is the conference which also normally elects bishops. However, there wil be no bishops elected this year in any US jurisdiction. There wil be some retirements. We will know by the conclusion of the conference if we will receive Bishop Holston back on South Carolina or have another bishop appointed for the next 4 years. Please pray for the delegates as we go about the business of the jurisdiction.

months of June and July

We will continue the renovations of the BP Building during the months June and July. We are humbled by the unbelievable response we received from our members, memorials and donations from others in the community that love St. John. We currently have $57,442.00 in our account. We do not have a total cost yet, but, feel this amount is enough to do most of the work. We thank all of those who have so generously given.
Our plans for the next two months are:

  • Paint the exterior of the building and replace the rotten wood. This includes all the doors, around the windows, stoops and the lettering on the building.
  • Paint the interior
  • Replace all the ceiling tiles
  • Replace some of the lighting in the big room, add some additional lighting
  • Renovate both big bathrooms and the two small bathrooms – new flooring, vanities and new lighting
  • Replace the carpet in the big room and flooring in the vestibules
  • Replace the blinds

We ask everyone for their patience and prayers. We look forward to a successful completion. We will keep you posted of the progress!
    Sincerely,
    The Trustees of St. John
