SPRING TO LIFE!!

Spring is notorious for new things—namely for its abundance of life. It is a time when God begins to redress His creation with blossoming flowers in the fields, the trees begin to show their leaves, and it’s as if God calls the birds in the sky to sing a new song that can be heard as the sun rises in the morning. Yes, Spring is certainly a beautiful time of year! However, for the Christian, the central focus of Spring is the Easter event when Jesus the Christ took up His body that lay still in the tomb. On the third day, He rose again, and there were numerous accounts of eyewitnesses that testified to this miraculous truth: Jesus is alive! He is the Christ! He is our Lord and Savior and in Him we have life eternal! Believe in Jesus and have life abundant! Join us on this Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus the Christ!

There has been a lot going on at Saint John and I wanted to draw your attention to where my focus has been for the past month and will be for the remainder of the year. This past month the parents of the youth began to meet and discuss building up the youth ministry at Saint John (in conjunction with Warrenville UMC). They met twice, and upon the next meeting — they will be planning special activities and events for the youth. In addition to this, I am going to focus my efforts on bringing the parents of the young children at Saint John together to do the same thing — to build up an active children’s ministry. Please keep these efforts in your prayers. God is doing something at Saint John and we are very much a part of His plan!

Hosea 6:3 "Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth."

The Light of the Cross! Todd Hudson took this picture several weeks ago and shared it with me. I thought it was so beautiful — a sign of good things to come. Praise be to God. Thank you Todd for sharing this picture of the CROSS.
