Through It All

Well, here we are at the doorstep of 2024 and, once again, many of us are getting ready to put all the Christmas decorations away—that is, if you haven’t done so already. If you were present during the Christmas Eve worship, you may recall the portion in the sermon where I urged everyone to go deeper into the Christmas gift that we have received in Jesus the Christ. By deeper, I mean deeper into the Scripture through studying God’s Word. I also mean deeper into your prayer life and deeper into the fellowship we have by loving each other and loving our neighbors. Basically, what I believe the Holy Spirit is saying is this: As you begin this New Year — resolve to let God lead you through it all.

Rev. Kendell Linh Healy

Psalm 37:5-15

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.

He will make your vindication shine like the light,

And the justice of your cause like the noonday.

Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;

Do not fret over those who prosper in their way,

Over those who carry out evil devices.

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath.

Do not fret—it leads only to evil.

For the wicked shall be cut off,

But those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

Thank you for the monetary Christmas gift. Your generosity, love and thoughtfulness throughout the year have and continue to bless me. It is with sincere gratitude that I thank you.

Dear St. John Family,

Thank you so much for the very generous Christmas gift. You are all so sweet to remember me in this way. It is an honor to serve as your organist, and I Cheris each one of you. May you have a wonderful New Year.
Blessings,
David Salter.
