Bringers of the Good News of Jesus Christ!
I’ve always found that during Autumn there is a certain kind of spirit among people everywhere that is kinder, gentler, and just overall more peaceful and loving than other times during the year. I believe that this is because of the types of celebrations that families and friends enter into during this upcoming season of hope, joy, peace, and love. Clearly, I’m talking about the Advent season, which points to Christmas when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. This will be a wonderful year of celebration because Christmas falls on a Sunday this year! As you prepare for this season of hope, joy, peace & love, I want to encourage you to not only cherish those virtues, but also to be bringers of hope, joy, peace & love because those are the very things that everyone needs. Yes, even amidst all the busyness and frenzy that will begin the day after Thanksgiving—be bringers of the good news of Jesus Christ!
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)
