Hello, my name is David Salter, and I have served as the organist at St. John since September of 1998. It is an honor to serve this historic congregation. I was no stranger to the St. John congregation as I had played the organ here during several summer “early” services back in the 1970’s. I have served as a church organist since 1963 at the age of 13. When I am not at the console playing for a service, I serve beyond the local congregations in both the district and conference. I presently serve as the Co-Director of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference Lay Servant Ministries. I also serve on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry and the District Committee on Ordained Ministry. In my spare time I love spending time in the mountains and/or the coast.
