Saint John Seniors

On June 14th, Saint John Seniors gathered and shared another wonderful meal together. Our guest speaker was Mr. Will Williams who is the president and CEO of the Economic Development Partnership for Aiken and surrounding counties (that’s a pretty important role!). Mr. Williams shared with us his knowledge of what was presently going on with the growth in Aiken county as well as what to expect in the future. From what I gathered, there is a lot of residential growth occurring, which is a good thing; however, what needs to happen to support the growth is more commercial investment within the area.
One of the things that many have been curious about is in regard to the “under-contract” sign that has been placed on the Leavelle Middle School Building located just below Saint John. From what Mr. Williams reported — the building is still for sale, which means it is no longer under contract.
